As our subconscious mind takes up 95% of our entire mind, we best believe that when it comes to making big changes in our lives, we want to start there.

I used to believe that to make changes, we just had to work really hard. And to REALLY want it. BADLY! But that’s not the case. When we work really hard and realllllly want something so badly, we’re often only working with our conscious mind (5%), and 95% (subconscious), will likely always win against the 5%.

There are specific techniques that allow you to access your subconscious mind to reprogram it, and today I’m going to share with you 3 amazing techniques to reprogram your subconscious mind.

After learning these techniques, you will be able to reprogram your subconscious mind for success, to align it with your conscious mind desires, so that you can start achieving the things you want in your life with ease!

How to reprogram your subconscious mind

Before we dive into the techniques, let’s go over how the subconscious mind works.

There are 3 types of brainwaves that make up the subconscious mind

When you calibrate your brainwaves to those of the subconscious, you will be in a subconscious state, therefore accessing your subconscious mind. This is where subconscious reprogramming can occur. The 3 types of brainwaves that make up the subconscious mind are:

  1. Alpha
  2. Theta
  3. Delta

Let’s get a better understanding on what it feels like to be in each state.

Alpha:

Zoned out, very relaxed (real life example: very relaxed, watching TV)

Theta:

Half asleep/half awake, imaginative state (real life example: just waking up - still a bit half asleep)

Delta:

Sleep (real life example: sleeping)

The slower your brainwaves, the deeper the state you enter. To enter the subconscious mind, you must slow down your brain waves. An alpha state sits at about 8-14 cps (cycles per second), theta at about 4-8 cps, and delta at about .5-4 cps.

Subconscious reprogramming is said to be best done in an alpha or theta state, as when in the delta state, the body is working on rest and repair.

Now, let’s learn how to deliberately enter these states for reprogramming.

Technique #1: Hypnosis

I just want to start off by making a disclaimer! The type of hypnotherapy we are talking about here is clinical hypnosis. This is different from stage hypnosis, which is used to create shows and entertainment. Clinical hypnosis is done in a private setting, with the goal of reprogramming the subconscious mind, and has nothing to do with running around like a chicken lol.

Hypnosis is a technique that walks you through a particular script, that allows your brainwaves to slow down, and enter a subconscious state. Once in a subconscious state, you are then being told certain suggestions for your subconscious mind to take on.

Hypnosis can be performed in multiple different ways! These include: hypnotherapy, hypnosis track, and self-hypnosis. Let’s take a closer look at each of these.




Hypnotherapy:

Working with a therapist will likely bring you the most precise results that you’re looking for. Hypnotherapists will be able to discuss with you what changes you are looking to make in your life, as well as tailor the session exactly to your needs, and adjust as needed.

Hypnosis track:

This involves listening to a guided hypnosis track. Most tracks will have a specific goal in mind (i.e. become more confident, manifest more money, attract love, etc.), so you can find a track that best suits your goal.

Self-hypnosis:

This involves you using a specific technique to hypnotize yourself. You can find many videos on youtube that will teach you different ways to do this.

Overall, hypnosis can be a very powerful technique to use to reprogram your subconscious mind. It is a great fit for someone who has a specific goal in mind, and knows exactly what program (i.e. beliefs) they want installed in their mind.

Technique #2: Guided meditation

Guided meditation is similar to hypnosis. You are walked through a specific script to slow down your brainwaves and enter a subconscious state. Once in a subconscious state, you are guided to certain thoughts and imagery to impress on the subconscious mind, to reprogram it. Guided meditation provides you with a little more imagery flexibility - it leaves the mind’s imagery up to you, whereas hypnosis tends to be more direct when it comes to suggestions.

In a guided meditation, you may hear “imagine living your day in full confidence”, whereas in hypnosis, you may hear “you speak confidently to large crowds. You love public speaking. You are amazing at public speaking and you are complimented on your confidence by your audience”.

Because guided meditations leave more up to the imagination, they are a great fit for those who may have more of a general goal, or simply want to improve their state (i.e. feeling more confident).

Technique #3: Subliminals

Subliminals are a fantastic way to reprogram your subconscious mind on the go!

A subliminal is an audio track that repeats affirmations over and over. These affirmations may be said at a low audio level, or at a fast speed (or both), and may also be covered by music. The purpose behind this is that the conscious mind does not pick up on it - only the subconscious (the subconscious can hear lower frequencies that our conscious mind can’t pick up on). The benefit of this is that if your conscious mind can’t hear the affirmations, it cannot decide to reject it, therefore going straight into the subconscious.




The subconscious mind works great with repetition, so as much as this technique doesn't necessarily involve slowing down the brainwaves, the information is likely to eventually make its way in the subconscious mind through repetition, as it is not stopped and questioned by the conscious mind. Also, there may be states throughout the day where you do enter a slight alpha state (very relaxed), and so if this is the case while a subliminal is playing, it will be even more effective.

I would advise you to do your due diligence when it comes to finding subliminals to listen to, and to only get them for reputable sources that you trust. The reason for this is that you likely won’t be able to tell 100% what is being said in the subliminal track (which is the point of them!), and so you want to ensure that what is being said, is indeed aligned with what it claims to say.

Subliminals are a great fit for those who may not have the time to sit down for 30+ minutes to follow along to a hypnosis or a guided meditation, as they can be taken with you on the go, and listened to while doing other tasks.
